Special thanks to our volunteer Jen Montag who passed away recently. We are so saddened to hear of her passing. She was a star volunteer for UpRising Yoga, rising in the early morning to help us at the Homeboy Industries 5K event, Jen travelled all the way from Long Beach to do that which bowled me over! She also worked hard on our annual gala, tracking down and procuring silent auction items and doing all the behind the scenes work to make our event a success.
She never mentioned being sick. Not once. She just did everything possible to help UpRising Yoga. She was a sweet soul on this earth. I will be eternally grateful for her service, her hilarious sense of humor and having met her. Rest in Peace Beauty. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti with love, Jill
Our first 200 Hour RYT Training, in collaboration with Sphota Yoga School, just ended today after 8 weeks, starting with UpRising Yoga Trauma Informed Yoga Training! I am overjoyed, blessed and still a bit surprised by all of the hard work, determination and personal growth we all have gone through. Though we all know there is a lot of work to do to become experienced in Hatha Flow we have plenty of opportunities to serve so many that are in need of yoga.
Thank you SBCC in Wilmington for making this possible. Also The California Wellness Foundation who sponsored trainees, and Store Front Lenders for partial sponsorship for another student. UpRising Yoga is honored to offer a career to students we invest in and we are so excited to help nurture, mentor and place in job opportunities.
Congratulations Mia Reyes, Nick Ippolito (I'm so proud of you!), Rubi Ruiz, Ursula Williams, and Mary Lou Ferro and myself, Jill Ippolto, who has never taken a 200 Hour RYT, I highly recommend our training! Laurie Searle is so informative, she knows her stuff and offers everything you need to be prepared to head out on your yoga teaching journey, and she shares so much love, thank you Laurie!
Thank you for everyone who has supported us during this process!
Namaste, Love & Blessings, Jill
